The workday last Saturday was quite successful as our volunteers removed all of the remaining stucco at 120 Brookside Place. We certainly thank those of you who showed up. This coming Saturday, we would like to set up the perimeter fencing so that the site is secure.

The front side of a house in Marina was all but destroyed by a fire that began in the garage in February 2010. One person died in the blaze and another was severely burned.

Habitat Monterey is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic volunteer to lead our Public Relations and Marketing efforts as the Public Relations Committee Chair on our Board. We need help telling our story!
Here's a great chance to help Habitat and have some fun at the same time! The Big Sur International Marathon has made donations in past years to our Habitat Chapter. They generally base the amount of the donation on the number of volunteers we turn out on race day ("you help us, we help you"). This year we would work from noon to 5 PM (beats having to get up at 3am!).

If you’re about to start a remodel or total demolition, here’s a way you can “partner” with Monterey County Habitat for Humanity and create a win – win – win program. Habitat will take appliances, lighting and plumbing fixtures, solid core doors, double pane windows, used cabinets, furniture – just about anything you can think of.
If you're not handy with a hammer, or if you already volunteer with us but want to do more, we're currently looking for more board and committee members. The Board of Directors meets the 2nd Thursday of each month in downtown Monterey. Committees meet on an as-needed basis.
